iGaming Ontario (iGO) Report for Revenue in 2025

The latest report to be published by iGaming Ontario (iGO) on the 28th of January 2026, provided the details for 2025 for Ontario's gambling market.

For the year 2025, the total value of all cash wagers places was approximately $98.3 billion which is a 26 percent year over year increase. The operator's combined non-adjusted gross gaming revenue (NAGGR) was $4 billion over the last 12 months. This was a 34% increase on the Ontario licensed online casino, sports betting, and peer-to-peer poker platform in 2024.

$807 Million in iGaming Tax in Ontario in 2025

The NAGGR numbers published by iGO are gross and indicate the money taken from all gaming activities prior to the 20% tax rate being applied. A breakdown of the revenue-share details aren't provided in the report, calculations would show the province making $807 million in tax revenue from the iGaming market in 2025.

Calculations would also mean that operators made around $3.2 billion.

Since the launch of the regulated iGaming market in Ontario in April 2022, the total operator revenue (including figures for 2025) now exceed $10.2 billion. This means a total tax revenue of approximately $2.04 billion for Ontario.

December was Another Record Month

The month to month data published by iGaming Ontario showed new monthly records for December. $9.5 billion was handled with $425.4 million in revenue for December. These are both up year on year at 21.5% and 57.3% respectively.

Ontario's monthly iGaming handle record was $8.5 billion as of September 2025 and the year-end has surpassed this at $9 billion. The gross gaming revenue also broke a record breaking the $400 million for the first time ever in November and surpassing this in December.

Highest Average Revenue Per Player Account

Ontario has 1.267 million active player accounts according to the figures at the end of 2025. This figure is down from November, but it does show a 24.5% increase year on year. The average revenue per player account was $334, which is the highest it's ever been in the four years that market has been in operation. The average revenue was up 27% compared to 2024.

Online Casinos Bring in the Most Revenues in Ontario

The regulated market in Ontario offers sports betting and online casino gaming. Online casinos bring in the most revenues and in December, almost $8.3 billion of the $9.5 billion in handle came from online casinos. That's 87%.

The majority of the licensed iGaming sites in Ontario offer online casino gaming, with some including sports betting as well. In December the total gross gaming revenue from casino gaming alone was $320.5 million. This is 75% of the overall total. Operators took in more than $3.1 billion in online casino gaming NAGGR in 2025.

Sports Betting Still Strong in the Province

Sports betting has around $1 billion for handle per month in Ontario. It was 11% of the total handle in December. More than $12 billion was wagered on sports in Ontario in 2025. December's handle of $1.09 billion was down 4% from the total in December 2024.

Ontario's online sports betting sites finished strong in 2025 and operators took $99.1 million in online sports betting NAGGR in December 2025. December's total sports betting revenue was 150% higher than that of December 2024.

P2P Poker Takes a Smaller Share

Peer-to-peer Poker is a small part of the market as it is still tied to Ontario only play. The handle here was $141 million, and revenue was $5.8 million in December. This is around 1.4% of the total market share. If players are legally allowed to compete against players outside of the province as per the court ruling in November 2025, this could see revenues in P2P poker increase.

Operators Coming to the Ontario Market in 2026

At the time of writing this article, Ontario is home to 48 licensed operators and 82 gaming sites. This figures doesn't include Ontario Lottery and Gaming (OLG) which is the government-run operator and not included in iGO's reporting.

There were a number of changes in 2025 in terms of operators and iGaming sites in Ontario. Golden Nugget Casino was launched by Crown DK CAN Ltd., the owners of DraftKings.

A number of brands left the market too including Magic Red Casino and the Wildz group of brands.

New brands could launch early in 2026. DAZN Bet received its license to launch in Ontario in 2026 and Absolutebet has also secured a license but has yet to release information on when it will launch. High Roller Technologies has an application pending with the Alcohol and Gaming Commission of Ontario (AGCO). This could see the number of operators rise to 50 and the number of sites to increase from as well in 2026.
